It's time to tell the Darrell Dexter NDP Government that raising your tuition is unacceptable.

Over the past three years, the province of Nova Scotia has made tremendous strides to improving the affordability of your education at Saint Mary's. During these three years Nova Scotia went from having the highest tuition on average to the third highest.

These improvements are at risk of being lost. Recently, a report commissioned by the Nova Scotia government recommended to the province to remove the tuition freeze that is currently in effect. The removal of this freeze and the potential removal of the Nova Scotia Student Bursary can result in a 20% increase in tuition costs.

Now more than ever, the student body of Saint Mary's needs to show our Premier that we are engaged on this topic. I would like to invite and encourage all Saint Mary's students to march to the legislature and tell the government we are tapped out and cannot afford another tuition increase.

With solidarity,

Matt Anderson
