Info Desk

The Information Desk

The Information Desk is located on the Main Floor of the O'Donnell Hennessey Student Center. As always, the energetic desk staff is constantly seeking new services to make university life more enjoyable. Look for these new services at the desk throughout the year. We sell many items and can provide you with just about any information you need.

If you have suggestions or ideas that you feel would enhance, or add to the services we provide, please let us know. Drop by the Information Desk today to see what we can do for you!

Husky Patrol Dispatch

We provide Husky Patrol dispatch Mondays-Fridays and Sundays from 6:30pm-12:00am. Husky Patrol is a service offered to students to provide them with a safe drive home and is intended to drive students from home to school or from school to home, no other drop offs are permitted. All students must present a valid SMU ID before they can be signed up for Husky Patrol; no ID = no ride. Students who wish to be picked up can call 496-8755 and must have their SMU ID with them when they are picked up. Husky Patrol runs on a first-come, first-served basis, therefore, no reservations are permitted. As well, all students must come to the desk to sign-up; we do not accept sign-ups over the phone. Please call or drop by the Information Desk for more information.

FAQ's

If the weather's stormy, will Husky Patrol still be in service?

This is decided by the Husky Patrol Manager by taking a number of safety factors into consideration. Usually the desk staff will know by about 4:30pm that day if the service will be running or not. Please call to find out. If the service is cancelled for the night, the Information Desk will close at 9pm.
What if I'm a SMU student and my friend's not? Can he/she come with me in the van?
Unfortunately, no. Husky Patrol is a service strictly for SMU students and staff only. Sorry, no exceptions are made.

I lost my SMU ID, can I still take Husky Patrol?

Only if you can show your registration receipt and another form of ID. Other than that, you have to go to the Library and get another SMU ID issued. Sorry, no exceptions are made.
