Graduate Advisory Committee

Shelter Movers NS

Shelter Movers collaborates with local businesses and community services who refer clients that have decided to leave an abuser, and have a safer place to go. Shelter Movers makes all the arrangements to move and store survivors’ belongings securely, on the clients’ terms.

Hope Cottage

Hope Cottage is a charitable organization whose mission is to provide meals to those who cannot afford to obtain these meals themselves.

Volunteer Opportunity: Looking for volunteers for serving food, coffee & tea or cleaning up after meals. Apply here.

  • Items: Coffee, miracle whip, sugar packets, canned meats for sandwiches, fold lock sandwich bags, small chickens, hamburger, stew beef for homemade soups.  sandwich meats, fresh fruit (apples, oranges, bananas), juice packs, nature bars, muffins and cookies.
  • Gifts: Hats, gloves, scarves, deodorant for men & women, shaving cream, razors and socks.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization working towards Nova Scotia where everyone has a safe place to live. They operate through build sites and their ReStore which aims to help build homes in a more sustainable way.
