The March Senate Meeting is here! As we near the end of the Winter 2021 term, the Saint Mary’s University Academic Senate is continuing to finalize everything course-related for the Spring, Summer, and Fall terms! Alongside Amy Lorencz from the Patrick Power Library, our VP External Samantha Graham is presenting on the benefits of Open Educational Resources (OERs) and Senate will be having a group discussion on the digital learning experiences of students at SMU. We will be raising the importance of clear communication to students regarding Fall registration and will be calling for increased transparency for the SMU budget process. As well, we will be bringing forward student opinions about the university’s commitment to digital enhancements. Finally, with exams and final projects coming up, we will be requesting that the University increases library and study space hours to help students get through the end of the semester!
